Rome

well I will try to summarize my week in Rome.

Me and my mom took the bus to the airport in the morning. The flight was 0925 and 2 hours and 50 minutes later we were in Rome! We took the Leonardo express to Termini Station. We had some trouble finding directions at first but as soon we found out what way to go to the hotel we were good to go. The first thing we did were change, it was HOT and humid. We found a street near the hotel; Via Naziolnale, just to look around. And we found out it was a great shopping street!! Well we were thirsty and wanted to sit for a little while... found a cafè and had coffee. We spent the rest of the afternoon at the street and I bought the most gorgeous dress!!! Fell for it at once and just had to have it!!!!! In the evening we went to a restaurant(one that I won't recommend at all - no service at all. didn't pay any attention to us and were just standing outside looking at the mopeds), we had lasagna that was good. We found another restaurant to have yummy ice cream dessert at the Piazza della Repubblica.

Next morning, Tuesday, we went up early (not that hard since it was warm and we woke up early) and our plan was to go to Vatican City. We walked to the city, and on the way we visited the Fontana di Trevi that was without water that day. The day was a little cooler(clouds) but still very warm. We crossed over Via del Corso, another shopping street, and over the river to the Palazzo di Giustizia, over to Castel Sant Angelo and then to Piazza Pio XII and outside the Basilica S Pietro. After we were done looking here we walked up Via Ottaviano to look at shops. We sat down to have coffee at Piazza Risorgimento. We then went to the Pantheon and from there to the Via del Corso, and up to Piazza di Spagna were we sat for a little while to look at all the people. I think this was all the big sightseeing we planned to see that day. But in Rome you see stuff everywhere and it's all so beautiful. And like the Pantheon you could be so amazed how they were able to make all this at that time. Before we reached the hotel we were able to find a lot of nice stores that day and the credit card got used some;)

That afternoon our feet and back were soars so we didn't want to go too far to eat. So we visited the nearest restaurant(think it was called Target), they had garlic bread and awesome great food!! I ordered a pasta meal and we had some Italian white wine with it. For dessert we ordered a Tiramisu to share, and it was sooo yummy!!

Wednesday we headed down to the Foro Romano and Colosseo, on the way we saw the Santa Maria Maggiore. Both Foro Romano and the Coloseo were amazing, we didn't have anything else planned that day so we just walked around, looked at shops and relaxed at cafès. We visited a restaurant listed in Lonely Planet( Est Est Est!) and they were great, nice waiter and great food. We asked if they had garlic bread, and they made that for us. The restaurant is famous for their pizza so we ordered that( I had ham and mushroom) and they were good, we were too full that evening to order any dessert.

The last day we had to do anything we went back to the Fontana di Trevi, and this time it was water in it, and it was beautiful! We didn't do much that day. I think it was the warmest day and we didn't want to do much. We got to use out credit cards that day as well though;)

All together it was an awesome trip and city and I really want to go back one day!
